Thank you for inspiration, Jay Hepburn, a cocktail enthusiast from England!
Oh Gosh!
30 ml light rum
20 ml Cointreau
10 ml fresh lime juice
5 ml gomme syrup
15 ml mineral water (sic!)
Shake. Strain into a Cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Эта пять! (Admirable!)
By the way. Jay specified in his recipe “mineral water” not “soda water” or simply “water”…
Therefore I’ve mixed a cocktail with plain (still) water and alkaline mineral water (my favorite
non-alcoholic drink) Borjomi. And I have not made a mistake! A version with Borjomi
has very smooth and “roundish” taste.
Thanks for the shout out. The Oh Gosh! should definitely not be made with soda water, but to be honest I usually use plain old tap water rather than bottled mineral water. I haven’t had one for a while. but I will definitely have one over the weekend.
Your liquor cabinet is quite something – that’s one comprehensive selection of Bols liqueurs!
Thanks for your comment.
Really this cocktail is so interesting – my wife likes it! But in my city, it is impossible to use tap water… I do not like chlorine on my cocktail, you know :)
Unfortunately, I haven’t translated my post about Mojito yet. I usually use Borjomi in my Mojitos too. I think the combination lime + Borjomi (natural sodium bicarbonate mineral water) works well. As a result, the taste becomes more smooth and pleasant :)
