One of my favorite cocktail. Delicious, light and compose drink. Pure classics. And of course it has unusualy appearance.

American Beauty

15 ml brandy
15 ml dry vermouth
15 ml fresh orange juice
15 ml grenadine
1 dash creme de menthe white
30 ml port wine
Shake all without port, cocktail glass, top with a port.

 Lime Hurricane

60 ml Southern Comfort liqueur
30 ml sweet and sour
10 ml blue curacao
10 ml lime syrup
Shake. Hurricane glas, lime wedge and maraschino cherry.

So pretty! But no more.

Some times I ask myself: ”А навіщо платити більше?” (А-а-а… Why pay more?)

This cocktail was proving ground for investigating of this question. :)

Electric Blue Margarita

20 ml Cointreau
20 ml silver tequila (Jose Cuervo)
10 ml peach schnapps
10 ml blue curacao
80 ml sweet and sour
Shake and strain over ice.

Very funny drink! I have two… But so expensive … Cointreau 33 USD 1 l and Jose Cuervo Blanco 27 USD 0,7 l…

Ok! Lets try Siroco Triple Seс 9 USD 0,7 l and El Charro Silver 24 USD 1 l.

Admirbable drink! :) Try to find 3 differences…

This amazing cocktail was winner of ICC 1930 (London).
Nine year later Walter Madigan prepare it without calvados and
won ICC 1939.
I think now it is pure classics, symbol of magnificence of cocktail…
It has complicated taste with undertones of fruits (rape apples, dried fruits, grape,
apricots) and fabulous appearance with little summer sun in your glass.

Golden Dawn

25 ml gin
25 ml apricot brandy
25 ml calvados
25 ml fresh orange juice
3 drop of grenadine
Shake (without grenadine). Cocktail, drop grenadine for effect of dawn.

In my home bar come to hand very interesting thing – Boulard Calvados Pays d`Auge.

This unusual cocktail is sweet memories about summer in today`s cold, dank 
evening.

Tropicana Belle

15 ml Galliano
15 ml Calvados
15 ml genever
8 ml maraschino cherry juice
Blend with lot of ice, serve in snifter.

As you now in my liquor cabinet are six bottle of gin… Always ready to participate :)

My choice for MxMo- Bombay Sapphire in Golden Dawn.

But more correct Frosty Day … ;)

Foggy Day

50 ml gin
15 ml pastis (Pernod)
Shake. Old-fashioned, garnish with lemon twist.

Very London taste… I think…

Cosmopolitan

50 ml citrus vodka
10 ml fresh lime juice
10 ml Cointreau
20 ml cranberry juice
Shake. Cocktail with orange zest.

15 ml mineral water (sic!)
Shake. Cocktail. Garnish with lemon twist.

By the way. In Jay recipe specified ”mineral water”, no soda water or simply water…
Therefore I prepare cocktail with the water and alkaline mineral water (my favorite
non-alcoholic drink) Borjomi. And I did not make a mistake! Version with Borjomi
has very smooth and ”roundish” taste.
