Hukillau

One more tiki-cocktail on my blog. The recipe was found on CocktailDB. It has great polynesian name and compositions looks like my favorite Mai Tai with orange juice instead orange liqueur. And this recipe is great chance to use my favorite Demerara rums!

Hukillau

30 ml fresh lemon juice
60 ml fresh orange juice
45 ml gold rum
15 ml demerara rum
15 ml orgeat
Blend all ingredients with a lot of ice. Serve in a double rocks glass. Garnish with fruit stick, mint sprig.

I use Bacardi Gold (Carta de Oro) and one of my favorite rum – El Dorado 12 y.o.

Admirable cocktail! It has very smooth and light taste of rum :)

Zombie

This version of Zombie cocktail I was found in one book by Salvatore Calabrese. Calabrese say that this is original version of Zombie. I don`t think so, but I can say that this cocktail is very good! :)

Zombie

30 ml light rum
30 ml gold rum
30 ml dark rum
20 ml cherry brandy
20 ml apricot brandy
100 ml pineapple juice
60 ml fresh orange juice
20 ml fresh lime juice
40 ml fresh papaya juice
1 tsp orgeat
15 ml overproof damerara rum
Shake all ingredients except overproof rum. Serve in tall glass (zombie) or hurricane glass. Float overproof rum, garnish with maraschino cherry, piece of pineapple or lime, or orange and sugar powder.

Admirable! This excellent cocktail has very smooth and well-balanced taste. It is not so sweet many other tiki-cocktail and I think is good.

Coronado Luau Special

This recipe from From “Beachbum Berry’s Grog Log” by Jeff Berry and Annene Kaye (1998). Coronado Luau Special is signature drink of now defunct Luau Room in San Diego`s hotel Del Coronado.

Delicious mixture of lemon, lime, orange juice and select rums tantalizes with a hint of Grand Marnier work very well on long summer evenings.
