This (I think so) tiki-cocktail was found on my favorite CocktailDB. It has some strange things in recipe. 15 ml of sugar… Hm-m-m-m… 1 oz of simple syrup? It seems so (very!!!) sweet drink, but I use sweetened pineapple juice and no sugar :)
Treasure Island Special
30 ml light rum
30 ml Jamaican rum
7 ml orange curacao
7 ml peach brandy
15 ml fresh lime juice
60 ml pineapple juice
15 ml sugar
2 drops Angostura bitters
Shake. Strain over ice in a double rocks glass.
Admirable! Treasure Island Special Cocktail is well-balanced and has very interesting piquant rum flavor.
This concoction is one of the rare case to use Bols Red Orange. Unintelligible cocktail was found on Drinksmixer - a dump of strange cocktail recipe.
Bloody Sun
20 ml gin
20 ml Bols Red Orange liqueur
10 ml Cointreau
orange juice
Shake gin, orange liqueur and cointreau. Pour into a glass filled with ice cubes and fill with orange juice. Old-Fashioned glass.
It is ordinary “tropical” drink with light, sweet and citrus taste. Nothing special.
The recipe of this drink I found on now defunct Martini Republic (if I not mistaken) several years ago. This simple concoction is my “number one choice” for outdoor party all this time.
Kalimotxo
1 part ordinary red dry wine (preferable spanish)
1 part Coca Cola
Build. Plastic bottle. No garnish.
Take 1 litre wine and 2-litre bottle of cola. Pour out about half cola and fill with wine. Chill and drink. Enjoy! (This video will help you to understand real kalimotxo-mood.
I use Webtender Wiki for new cocktails this evening. I go mad on tiki-drinks last few days and search something interesting here. And I find great idea - my favorite Mai Tai cocktail, but which made with blended scotch instead rum! Wow! Great idea, I think. And this cocktail has amazing name - Honi Honi… Another great idea - Pinky Gonzalez (Mai Tai with tequila instead rum) I find right here. It is great idea for comparsion of this cocktail.
I use my favorite motto - “Creating a drink that would be the finest drink we could make, using the finest ingredients we could find” (Trader Vic about Mai Tai`s idea) for components choice. Best scotch in my liquore cabinet is Famous Grause 12 y.o. and best tequila - Leyenda del Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Anejo. Both ingredients are ultimate spirit in my collection.
Honi Honi
45 ml blended whisky
15 ml orgeat
15 ml orange curacao
7 ml rock candy syrup
30 ml fresh lime juice
Shake all ingredients and strain in rocks glass over ice. Garnish traditionaly.
Actually it is great, well-balanced cocktail. The scotch give fascinating complex aftertaste.
Pinky Gonzalez
45 ml tequila
15 ml orgeat
15 ml orange curacao
7ml rock candy syrup
30 ml fresh lime juice
Shake all ingredients and strain in rocks glass over ice. Garnish traditionaly.
This is amazing cocktail too. It has complex sweet taste, but in color it is light brown :)
P.S. Another Honi Honi Cocktail - consist of light rum, apricot brandy and lemon juice. It will be tasted soon :)
We are happy with this cocktail today :) It is ideal concoction for romantic evening. Fast, simple and very effective.
Silver Amour-a-Rita
45 ml silver tequila
30 ml Parfait Amour liqueur
15 ml fresh lime juice
Shake. Strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with thin orange slice.
Admirable!
P.S. This cocktail I prepared with rare bottle of Jose Cuervo La Rojena. This bottle has strange label and NOM 1104 (my ordinary bottle has NOM 1122). The taste of this tequila is so different too.
If you now something interesting about this tequila, please, write this in the comments.
I not sure tiki or not is this cocktail in fact, but I feel that it is tiki :)
A Lulu
30 ml light Puerto Rican rum
15 ml creme de noyeau (I use DiSaronno Originale)
30 ml fresh orange juice
15 ml passion fruit (mixer)
15 ml Galliano
Shake. Strain into ice-filled rocks glass.
As “passion fruit (mixer)” (wtf?) I use mix of passionfruit syrup and fresh lemon juice 1:1. I use Italian almond liqueur Disaronno Originale (Amaretto) instead creme de noyeau (french almond liqueur).
Admirable! Sweet and exotic taste and good balanced.
As you know, I am a Demerara Rums fan :) One fine day I visited Liqurious and see that Trader Tiki posted Rum Pot!!! Of course I try it!
Rum Pot
45 ml Demerara aged rum (El Dorado 12 y.o.)
7 ml vanilla syrup
15 ml passion fruit syrup
20 ml fresh orange juice
20 ml fresh lemon juice
Shake well and pour into Double Rocks Glass.
